LAST CHANCE TO VOTE IN THE AGE MUSIC VICTORIA AWARDS !
There is still time to vote for your favourite Victorian music of 2014 in the biggest publicly voted awards in Australia at
Almost 60,000 votes have been cast in the Age Music Victoria Awards and voting closes 5PM FRIDAY.
This year the nominees in the APRA Best Song category are Banoffee for Got It, Courtney Barnett for Avant Gardener, Fraser A Gorman with Book Of Love, Laura Jean for My First Love Song and Total Control with Flesh War. The winner will receive a $2,500 cash prize.
The Best Emerging Artist category is one of the tightest races this year, between the aforementioned Banoffee, Client Liaison, D.D. Dumbo, Milwaukee Banks and Remi. The winning artist will receive a $2,500 travel and accommodation prize from Travel Beyond and a high profile showcase slot at BIGSOUND in September.
All winners and their bands will also receive customised Crumpler tour bags and every nominee will receive rehearsal vouchers at Bakehouse Studio.
For Best Male Artist, Dan Sultan is facing off with Chet Faker, Vance Joy, Rob Snarski and the dapper thrice-nominated Mikelangelo.
Expect a photo finish for Best Band this year in the race between Client Liaison, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, Teeth & Tongue, Total Control and Wagons.
Votes are still rolling in for all of the other categories, including the hotly contested Best Regional Act and Best Festival.
Daddy Cool will headline the ninth annual Awards, playing a set of their greatest hits at 170 Russell Street on Wednesday, 19th November to celebrate their induction into the Age Music Victoria Awards Hall of Fame. Doors open at 8.30 sharp finishing at 11.30. Late pioneering music journalist Ed Nimmervoll will also be inducted.
Henry Wagons will host the both the industry-only awards ceremony and public concert and the EG Allstars band will set the night on fire with guest singers including Russell Morris, Stonefield, Jess Cornelius, Davey Lane and one unannounced surprise guest on the night.
