Think you’ve seen circus? You haven’t seen it quite like this. Bursting with personality and Pacific pride, The Fijian Flying Circus celebrates Pasifika culture at its finest, inviting audiences to experience the stories, talent and community spirit at the heart of Fiji.
Following sold-out shows at Brisbane Festival, the tribe is performing at Melbourne Showgrounds until 22 November 2026. Part of DFAT’s Australia Now program, the production brings Fijian creativity to Australian audiences while creating lasting opportunities for young Pacific artists.
From the sugarcane fields to the world stage
Created by VOU, Fiji’s first homegrown circus has grown from the sugarcane fields of Nadi into an international touring production.
Behind the acrobatics and laughter are young Fijian artists whose access to training and education has opened doors to professional careers and international stages. Their performances celebrate where they come from – and show what becomes possible when talent has somewhere to grow.
“We believe that Fijians have a special kind of contagious happiness,” says Sachiko Soro, Director of VOU.
“Right now, the world just needs more happiness, more joy, and more bridges. For us, those bridges are the canvas of a circus tent, a place where people can come together, escape for a moment, and share a laugh.”
