AKOVA

AKOVA is coming to town – and he’s launching his debut CD Earth Recruit, also out now on iTunes and is also available at www.akova.com.au.

An incredible multi-instrumentalist, AKOVA transfixes his audiences with high energy, uplifting roots music, effortlessly mixing genres. He plays everything but the kitchen sink – including guitars, vocals, cajon, djembe, ankle bells, ukulele, kazoo and an assortment of other percussion instruments on both his album and in his live show.

Imagine the love child of Xavier Rudd and Cat Empire and you’re getting close.

Formerly of Roots/Reggae ensemble Shoebox, AKOVA has headlined Cavestock 2011, performed at Nimbin Roots Festival, Bleach, Swell Fest, Home Festival and Surfers Paradise Festival. He has shared the stage with Ash Grunwald, Phil Emmanuel, King Tide, Set Sail and Raz Bin Sam and the Lion I as well as G Love & Special Sauce, Ozomatli, and Tijuanna Cartel with Shoebox.

The Earth Recruit Tour will kick off in Byron Bay and will cover many towns along the east coast for 7 weeks and then over to WA in early July and down to Canberra and Victoria in November.
